Toby

Let me introduce you to Toby, a male beagle/hound mix who currently weighs approximately 30-35 lbs.  Toby is in need of a home with an experienced adopter.  When he arrived at the Rescue almost 3 years ago he was initially adopted by a family but the Dad recently passed away.  Unfortunately he was sent to a boarding kennel until the family contacted our Rescue to surrender him back.  His experience after the loss of his Dad changed his whole outlook on life, and unfortunately it was not a pleasant experience. As a result he is reactive to some adult dogs therefore an experienced dog owner is necessary to provide him once again with a safe environment, love and a home where he feels comfortable.

 

He is neutered, micro-chipped and up to date on all medical needs.  He is house and crate trained as well.  He has a bundle of love and kisses to share with his new family and would do best with no children in his immediate family.  Toby is quite intelligent but still looking to navigate life without his previous Dad, whom he loved dearly. He is vocal when the situation necessitates.  As with the addition of any new dog in a family, training is always recommended and in this instance, would be a bonus for Toby and his owner to attend to develop a solid bond and learn positive behaviors to facilitate the transition to his new environment.  A fenced in yard  (not an invisible fence) would be a plus to provide the opportunity for him to run and play and obtain the daily exercise needed for most dogs to make for a happy, healthy life.

 

Adoption fee is $500.00.  Approval of application also involves a meet and greet which will provide Toby the opportunity to select and interact with his special new family and  his future fur-ever home.  Please note that the Rescue is not looking to recoup the cost incurred as the fee is only 1/3 of the total expense to the Rescue to prepare a puppy for adoption.
