Meet Richard, our south Texas gent, currently weighing 20-25 lbs. He is a gentle, loving soul looking for a family and home of his own to share all he has to offer. When he arrived at our rescue he was not able to take two steps without falling over and had been diagnosed with a neurological condition for which there is no conventional treatment. When the shelter in Texas contacted the Rescue, we were able to arrange a flight with a Nanny on a South-West flight to Connecticut and worked with a homeopathic contact to help him maintain his balance. With time and lots of love and attention he gradually was able to keep his balance as he investigated his surroundings. He now loves to explore and play with the other pups at the Rescue and enjoys cuddling to display the love he has to offer. Richard is neutered, micro-chipped, crate trained and up to date on all medical needs. With some individualized attention, patience and consistency, he should easily complete his house training. He has lots of love and kisses to share with some lucky family and would do well with kind and respectful children of all ages. Richard is sweet, submissive, smart and oh, so lovable. He is only vocal when the situation necessitates. As with the addition of any new puppy in a family, training is always recommended; he would benefit from the experience to develop a close bond with his new family and learn positive behavior patterns. A fenced in yard would be a bonus (not an invisible fence) to allow him the opportunity to run and play and get his daily exercise which is so essential for the healthy development of any puppy. Adoption fee is $500.00. Approval of application also involves a meet and greet to provide an opportunity for Richard to interact with and select his special family and new home. Please note that the Rescue is not looking to recoup the cost incurred as the fee is only 1/3 of the total expense to the Rescue necessary to prepare each puppy for adoption.
